Large Rectangle (336 x 280) gets the most clicks. It doesnt look like the standard ads people got used to. They perform best when you place your ad floating inside the content. I highly suggest that you kepp your adsense floating on the left side. People start reading from left (its the opposite in languages like arabic) so your ad will attract more attention. Here is the code that will float your ad on the left side and wrap the text around it. You can adjust the margin size as you like to keep your page neat. The numbers are given to give you some idea.

The next best performing ad size is the Medium Rectangle (300 x 250). The beauty of this two rectangle ads are that they can be blended in your content so they wont bother your sites design. Ad sizes like Skyscraper will make it harder to design your site.
Tip: For those who wishes to use floating ad in their site , It is easier to design it with using tables.

I notice that the 336 x 250 ad performs the best however pays the lowest amount due to the fact that the lowest cpc ads showing because there are more ad links to show and only the highest ones will show first unless you have 4 showing, I make more money with less clicks to my horizontal ad which is the 440 x 60 ad. Maybe im wrong but I would much rather use the horizontal ad showing then the big 336 ad even though its less clicks you get more money per click, so I guess that is the deciding factor, which ad makes you the most money and I have played with the colors a lot and see very little change when doing so, I think it is all about if you do get the clicks how can you maximize your cpc your getting.
